🧠UX Interpretation: Remove the tool
For decades opening a drinks can required a separate opener known as a church key. The tool punched triangular holes into the lid so the liquid could pour.
The pull tab replaced that ritual with a built-in mechanism. A small aluminium ring lifts and acts as a lever. Pressure concentrates along a pre-scored line in the lid, and the metal tears exactly where intended.

The gesture is simple and memorable: lift, pull, drink. No tool, no preparation.
Early versions of the tab detached completely, which solved the opening problem but created litter. The later stay-tab design kept the lever attached and pushed the scored panel inward instead.
This small change turned the can itself into the tool that opens it.
